Strange Things Happened in My House Every Night at 3 a.m

My name is Daniel Otieno, and I live in Ruaka, Kiambu County, just a few kilometers from Nairobi. I moved into the house with my wife Janet Otieno and our daughter Sheila after getting a new job in Westlands. The house looked perfect—quiet neighborhood, friendly neighbors, and affordable rent. At first, life was peaceful. We settled in quickly and believed we had finally found a place we could call home.
The strange things started after the first two weeks. Every night, at exactly 3:00 a.m., I would wake up suddenly. At first, I thought it was stress from work. Then I started hearing sounds—soft footsteps in the corridor, the sound of chairs being dragged, and sometimes light knocking on the bedroom wall. When I asked Janet, she said she heard them too but was too afraid to talk about it. Our daughter started crying at night, saying she saw “a tall shadow” near her door.
One night, things escalated. At exactly 3 a.m., the bedroom door slowly opened by itself. There was no wind. The lights flickered, and the room suddenly felt cold. My heart was beating fast. I jumped out of bed and switched on the lights. Nothing was there. Janet was shaking, and Sheila was crying uncontrollably. That was the night I knew something was seriously wrong in that house.
