After Doing Boda Boda Job For Over 7 Years, I Now Drive A Benz, Kato Shares How He Made Quick Money To Buy His First Car

Kato is a man many people in Kampala, Uganda, can easily relate to. For over seven years, his life revolved around a boda boda motorcycle. Every morning before sunrise, he would wake up, say a short prayer, and head to the roadside hoping for passengers. Some days were good, but most days were exhausting. Rain, accidents, police harassment, and low income became part of his daily routine.
Despite working very hard, Kato barely managed to pay rent, support his family, and maintain his motorcycle. As the years passed, Kato began to feel stuck. He watched other people move forward in life while he remained in the same position. Friends he started with had bought land, built houses, or switched to better businesses. For him, nothing seemed to change. Whenever he tried to save money, an emergency would come up. The motorcycle would break down, a family member would fall sick, or unexpected expenses would wipe out his savings.
Deep inside, Kato felt there was something blocking his progress. What hurt him most was the lack of respect. Many people looked down on him because he was a boda boda rider. Some passengers delayed payment, others insulted him, and some treated him as if he had no future. Kato often asked himself why his hard work never translated into success. He knew he was not lazy, yet poverty followed him everywhere he went.Everything began to change after a serious conversation with an old client who noticed Kato’s frustration.
