My Brother Whom I Sold Land For Ksh 5M To Help Him Get KDF Job Is Not Picking My Calls After He Got a Rank, Man Laments

Life has a way of teaching us lessons, sometimes through the people closest to us. I never imagined that helping my own brother could turn into such a painful experience.
My name is Peter Mwangi, a 32-year-old man from Machakos County, and I am sharing my story so others can understand how giving from the heart can sometimes hurt if trust is broken.
It all started two years ago when my younger brother, Samuel, came to me asking for help. Samuel had always dreamed of joining the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF), but he lacked the qualifications and resources to get through the recruitment process.
He approached me one afternoon and explained that he had tried to apply several times but was always turned down. He was desperate. Seeing my brother struggle broke my heart, and I decided I would do everything I could to support him.
At the time, I had recently inherited a piece of land from our parents. It was modest but had some value, and I knew it could change Samuel’s life if I used it wisely.
I made the tough decision to sell part of my land to raise KSh 5 million, which I then gave to Samuel so that he could cover all the costs for his KDF application, training, and preparation.
I trusted that he would be grateful and that this investment would help him build a stable career.
It was around this time that I also faced challenges in my own household. My husband, John, had been struggling with recurring health issues that no doctor could fully explain. Traditional medicine was never my first choice, but I was desperate for a solution.
