We Fought Over Water Every Dry Season, but What Happened This Year United the Whole Village

Every year, when the dry season came, our village turned into a battlefield. Fights would break out at the river, neighbors would argue over whose turn it was to draw water, and tempers flared easily.

People who had been friends for decades became strangers overnight. Families went without clean water for days, and the tension was so thick you could almost touch it. This year was supposed to be the same.

The river had dried up earlier than usual, and tempers were already rising. I remember standing in line with my bucket, watching my neighbors shout at one another over a tiny puddle, feeling helpless.

Every solution we tried failed building new wells, rationing water, even appealing to local leaders. Nothing worked. The fights kept escalating, and I feared that someone would get seriously hurt.
Desperate for a solution, I started searching online for alternatives.
