They Laughed at the Old House, Until the Walls Started Whispering

It started when my cousins and I inherited an old family house on the outskirts of town. It was huge, beautiful in a worn-down sort of way, and we laughed at how creepy it looked at night. “Who even lives here?” we joked. We moved in thinking it would be fun to explore.

At first, everything was normal. But then… the whispers started. At night, faint voices echoed through the hallways. At first, we thought it was the wind. But then the whispers became words—sometimes calling our names, sometimes repeating old conversations we had in the day.

Doors opened on their own. Objects would move. Shadows flickered across rooms with no light source. We tried to ignore it. We joked that the house was “haunted” to scare each other. But soon, even the bravest among us couldn’t sleep. Panic set in.
