My Child Refused to Speak After School Trauma, and This Is How I Helped Him Heal

When my child stopped speaking, I thought it was a phase. At first, I told myself he was just shy or tired from school. Days turned into weeks, and the silence grew heavier. He would look at me, understand everything I said, but refuse to respond with words.
Teachers began calling me to school. They said he no longer participated in class. He avoided other children and sat alone most of the time. That was when I learned he had gone through a traumatic incident at school that frightened him deeply.
As a parent, I felt helpless. I blamed myself for not noticing earlier. I tried being patient, then firm, then overly gentle, but nothing worked. Every night, I cried silently, wondering how to reach my own child.
Hospital visits gave me no real answers. Doctors said he was physically fine. They suggested more observation and therapy waiting lists that were months away. Meanwhile, my child was slipping further into fear and emotional withdrawal.
