“Mtafutie Bwana Amuoe, Maskini Nyinyi” Tears After Kenyan Man Dies a Day After Abusing His Wife’s Parents, Calls Them Names

Tragedy struck in Kitui when Francis Nthiga, a 30-year-old man, collapsed and died at his home a day after a heated confrontation with his in-laws. The incident has shocked the local community and serves as a cautionary tale against domestic abuse and disrespect towards family elders.
Francis had been in a relationship with Damaris Nzisa, daughter of Getrude Mboya and Mary Nzango, since 2020. Sources reveal that the relationship was turbulent, with Francis frequently subjecting Damaris to physical abuse and emotional torment.
“I loved him and hoped he would change, but every day was a struggle. He would beat me, insult me, and frustrate my life even at work. I stayed because I wanted a family, but it became unbearable,” said Damaris, speaking tearfully.
In December, Damaris finally left Francis and returned to her parents’ home after another severe beating. She told him that she would only consider reconciliation if he came to her parents’ house to seek forgiveness. A meeting was arranged for February 11, but instead of coming in peace, Francis reportedly verbally abused Damaris’ parents, saying, “Mnadhani ni Lazima nioe Msichana wenu, enda ata mnanuka umaskini” (“Do you think I must marry your daughter? You all stink of poverty”), before leaving abruptly.
