THIKA – Early Wednesday morning, a strange incident was witnessed in Thika that left residents stunned. Five men, who had stolen items from a local machinery shop in Makongeni the night before, were attacked by a swarm of bees while sitting in a matatu.
The vehicle had tinted windows, but one window was open. The bees flew straight inside and began stinging the men. They screamed, trying to escape, as people watched in shock. “It was terrible! I’ve never seen anything like it,” said one resident. “The men were running and screaming, and the street was full of panic.”
These men were not innocent. They had stolen valuable items from a shop, leaving the owner angry and worried. The shop owner said he could not sit back and do nothing. He sought help to find the thieves and recover his property.
“I woke up and saw my things were gone. I was angry, but I had to act fast,” said the shop owner on arriving after hearing what had happened near his area, he knew it had worked for him. Adding “If I waited, they could have stolen more or disappeared.”
The unusual attack by the bees forced the men to confess. Under the painful stings, they admitted to stealing the items and asked for forgiveness. Residents called it a strange but clear message: crime has consequences.
