Mysterious Night Ritual Stops Livestock Theft in a Village Plagued for Months

For many months, our village had been living in fear. Livestock theft had become so common that almost every family had lost something. Some lost goats, others lost sheep, and a few unlucky families woke up to find their cows missing from the shed.
At first people thought it was just ordinary thieves passing through the area. But as time went on, the situation became stranger. The thieves never left footprints, and the dogs in the homesteads never barked during the night. It was as if the animals simply vanished.
My neighbor was the first to lose two goats. A few weeks later, my uncle lost three sheep in one night. Then it was my turn. I woke up one morning and found the gate of my cattle shed still locked, but my best cow was gone. I searched everywhere around the compound, but there was no sign of how the animal had been taken.
The village elders called several meetings trying to solve the problem. Young men even started night patrols, taking turns guarding the village. But despite all the effort, the thefts continued. People started whispering that something deeper might be happening.
Some believed the thieves were using strange methods that made it impossible for anyone to notice their movements at night. One evening while visiting a friend in a nearby town, I shared the story of what was happening in our village.
