Man Missing for 5 Years Returns Home on the Same Day His Memorial Was Being Held

Our village had already accepted that my uncle Joseph was gone forever. For five years, nobody had seen or heard from him. At first we searched everywhere we could. Relatives travelled to nearby towns, checked hospitals, and even reported the disappearance to local authorities. But months passed with no sign of him.
Joseph had left home one morning saying he was going to look for work in another town. That was the last time anyone saw him. His phone stopped working shortly after, and all attempts to reach him failed. As time went on, people slowly stopped expecting his return.
My grandmother suffered the most. Every evening she would sit outside the house, staring down the road as if she believed he might suddenly appear. But after five years, even she began to accept that maybe he had died somewhere far away.
The family finally decided to hold a memorial ceremony to honor him and allow everyone to move forward. Preparations started a week before the ceremony. Relatives came from different places, and the mood in the compound was heavy with sadness.
Early that morning, people gathered under a tent as elders prepared to begin the prayers. Just as the ceremony was about to start, something unbelievable happened.
A man walked slowly toward the compound from the dusty road. At first, no one paid much attention. But as he got closer, people started whispering. The man looked thin, tired, and older than before, but there was no doubt about who he was.
