“Michael I Saw You! Don’t Lie to Me Again” — The Confrontation That Exposed a Hidden Truth

Everything began on a calm Saturday evening in Nairobi’s South B estate, where I had lived with my husband, Michael, for nearly six years. Our marriage had seen both sunshine and storms, but lately, the storms were becoming too frequent. Michael had changed. His laughter was forced, his explanations short, and his phone — once carelessly lying around — had suddenly become his most guarded possession.

I tried to ignore it at first, telling myself it was stress from work or the tight economy weighing on him. But the late-night messages, the unexplained calls, and the whispered conversations in the bathroom slowly ate into my peace. I kept quiet, hoping things would go back to normal, but deep down, I knew something was terribly wrong.

One evening, as I was returning home from visiting my sister in Imara Daima, I saw something that left me trembling. Michael was standing near a car parked by the corner, speaking to a woman I had never seen before. They were close — too close — and even though I couldn’t hear what they were saying, the way he held her hands told me everything I needed to know. I stood frozen, watching the man I loved act like a stranger. When he finally drove off, unaware I had witnessed everything, my heart sank. I walked home in silence, shaking with a mixture of anger, fear, heartbreak, and confusion. I didn’t sleep that night. I simply waited for him to return, my mind racing with questions and pain I could no longer swallow.
