
Liverpool and Portugal Striker Diogo Jota,28, alongside his brother Andre Silver, 26, have been confirmed dead in an accident which happened in Spanish province of Zamora.
The 26 year old Andre Silver was also a professional footballer playing for Portuguese second tier club Penafiel.
According to report by Guardia Civil, Jota and his brother Andre Silver died at 00:30 local time on Thursday.
They said that their car, a Lamborghini, left the road due to a tyre blow-out while they were trying to overtake another vehicle and then caught fire.
The regional fire department of castille-Leon, where Zamora is located posted on its website that a car crashed shortly after midnight on Thursday and bursted into flame with two men occupant who are aged 28 and 26 were found dead.
He had recently posted photos on social media of his wedding ceremony which took place five days ago on 28th June.
Jota joined Liverpool from Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2020 and scored 65 goals in 182 appearances in all competitions helping Liverpool to win a premier league title last season.
He also made 49 appearances for Portugal wining two UEFA nations league titles.
