Former Harambee Stars captain Victor Wanyama has shared good news about the football academy he is building in Nambale. He says the biggest problem they faced — leveling the playing fields — has now been solved.
Wanyama and his brother, Macdonald Mariga, are behind the multi-million dollar project. They are running it through the Wanyama Foundation, which they started in 2018 to help young people in their community grow their sports talents.
According to Wanyama, construction work is still going on, but he is hopeful that the remaining tasks will be finished soon. He believes the facility will be fully ready before long.
Once completed, the academy will focus on training young footballers from different age groups. These include children aged 12, 13, 15, and 17 years. The goal is to give them a proper place to learn and play, just like Wanyama did when he was growing up.
