US to Blocks Ships entering and leaving Iran through strait of Hormuz as Pakistan Talks Fail

Talks between the United States and Iran have ended without any agreement. The meeting took place in Pakistan over the weekend, but both sides failed to reach a deal.

Shortly after, the US military announced a new move that it will block all ships entering or leaving Iran through the Strait of Hormuz.

President Donald Trump confirmed the action. He said ships going to or coming from other countries will not be affected. However, he repeated that Iran must not have nuclear weapons. Many believe this tough stance caused the talks to break down.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi gave a different view. He said the talks failed because of the unclear position of the United States and the decision to block the Strait of Hormuz.
