Government Launch Manhunt for Bandits in Kerio Valley.

The government through the ministry of internal security has intensified it’s crackdown on bandits who in the recent days have resorted to killing innocent Kenyans after cattle rustling was contained.

This was revealed by the interior cabinet secretary Kipchumba Murkomen during his condolences visit to the family of the late father Alloys Cheruiyot Bet at their home in Cheplasigei village in Nandi county.

Murkomen further revealed that bandits’ strategy is to instill fear and compel security officers to abandon their operation, he further reaffirmed his commitment to securing the country emphasizing that no one will be spared.

Murkomen noted that the recent killings of Boniface Ongote, Simon Njaga and now Fr. Alloys Bett serve as a stark reminders that bandits are now engaging in the act of terrorism beyond livestock theft and are determined to prevent the restoration of peace.

He called on the community especially around Kerio Valley sub county to ensure that they fully corporate with the security agencies in the area to prevent further escalation of the criminal act.

For the last two years the government intensified it’s operations against bandits in the entire north rift region saving many lives and subsequently several livestocks have been returned back.

The CS expressed deepest condolences to parents of Fr. Alloys as well as his siblings, friends, the church, the entire congregation for the profoundly sad loss.
