Prophet Warns President Ruto of Brewing Political Storm as 2027 Election Looms
A Nigerian spiritual leader, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has sounded the alarm bells over what he describes as a wave of political unrest that could threaten President William Ruto’s ambitions for a second term in 2027. In a statement released over the weekend, the prominent cleric issued a stark warning about the challenges that lie ahead for the Head of State, calling on him to remain vigilant in the face of mounting political pressures.
According to Ayodele, Kenya is heading into a particularly sensitive period marked by increased confrontation between the government and opposition forces. The prophet pointed out that opposition leaders are already plotting fresh strategies aimed at challenging Ruto’s hold on power, with youth movements expected to mobilise for massive demonstrations that could cast a shadow over the president’s re-election campaign.
The warnings paint a picture of an increasingly fractious political landscape. Ayodele cautioned that a heavy protest could cause significant embarrassment to the president and disrupt his second-term ambitions. The cleric stressed that Ruto needs to stay alert and prepare for further turbulence ahead, as political opponents seek to capitalise on any opportunity to undermine his government.
Beyond the anticipated street protests, the prophet also revealed that some politicians are contemplating using questionable tactics against the Head of State. He warned that certain elements are looking to blackmail Ruto, urging the president to be particularly cautious in his dealings with religious institutions and economic development initiatives. Back in June, Ayodele had already warned Ruto about the rising political pressure, protests, and emerging opposition strategies that could destabilise his government. His latest message appears to be a reinforcement of those earlier predictions, suggesting he sees little improvement in the political temperature.
The prophet’s remarks also extended beyond Kenya’s borders. He warned several other African nations, including Guinea, Botswana, Namibia, and Tanzania, about impending political and social challenges. For Tanzania specifically, Ayodele urged President Samia Suluhu to remain prayerful, suggesting that she faces obstacles to her political agenda despite her efforts in office.
As Kenya heads towards its 2027 elections, these warnings add to the growing conversation about the country’s political stability. While some may dismiss prophetic pronouncements as mere speculation, others see them as worth paying attention to, particularly given the volatile nature of Kenyan politics in recent years.
