“I Bought a Brand-New Car After Saving for Years, But From the First Drive, I Felt Something Was Wrong,” She Says

For Janet Achieng, 34, buying her first car was supposed to be the happiest moment of her life. She had worked tirelessly for years, saving every extra coin, sacrificing luxuries, and pushing herself through exhaustion just to make her dream come true. When she finally drove out of the showroom in her brand-new car, she believed her struggles were finally paying off.

But that happiness didn’t last long.

“From the very first drive, I felt something wasn’t right,” Janet recalls. “It wasn’t mechanical. It was a strange, heavy feeling — like something bad was attached to the car.”

At first, she ignored the feeling, assuming it was just nerves or excitement. But as days passed, strange things began to happen. The car would suddenly stall without warning. Warning lights would appear and disappear. Mechanics found nothing wrong. Even more disturbing, Janet started experiencing strange dreams, fear, and constant exhaustion every time she drove the car.

“I felt drained,” she said. “Every time I entered the car, my heart would beat fast, and I felt uneasy. It was as if something didn’t want me to enjoy what I worked so hard for.”
