I Never Thought Greed Could Destroy Relationships So Completely, He Says, Until I Saw How They Secretly Took Advantage of My Weakness, Manipulated the People Around Me, and Left Me Standing Alone While They Celebrated Their Own Gain

My name is Samuel Kariuki, and for most of my life, I believed that loyalty and friendship were unshakable foundations. I lived in Nakuru town, where I ran a logistics business transporting goods across the Rift Valley. Over the years, I built a network of close friends and partners whom I trusted completely. They shared meals with me, celebrated my successes, and even seemed to offer guidance when challenges arose. I never imagined that greed could quietly creep into hearts I had believed were loyal.

At first, everything seemed normal. These friends helped me negotiate deals, introduced me to suppliers, and even advised me on business strategies. I believed their words and relied on their actions, thinking that collaboration would only strengthen us. I shared my weaknesses openly—financial concerns, staff challenges, and future expansion plans. I trusted them because they had always been there, offering support and encouragement. I didn’t see the warning signs, like their secretive phone calls, sudden absences, or subtle manipulations of our staff.

The betrayal unfolded gradually, almost invisibly. Clients started cancelling contracts for reasons I couldn’t understand. Payments went missing, and suppliers who had been reliable suddenly demanded upfront cash. I questioned my decisions, but every time I voiced concern, my so-called friends assured me that everything was fine. Behind my back, they were working together to undermine me. They spread lies about my integrity, turning clients and staff against me while positioning themselves as the “responsible” ones. The realization hit me hard—my weakness and trust had been weaponized.
