She Buried the Diary But Its Words Kept Returning

It all started when my younger sister, Aisha, found her late grandmother’s old diary in the attic. At first, she was fascinated, reading about a woman’s life from decades ago. But soon, strange things began happening. Aisha would read a passage aloud, and moments later, the words seemed to echo in the house.

Shadows moved across walls that should have been empty. We didn’t know what to think. At first, we laughed it off, saying it was coincidence. But then the messages started appearing elsewhere on paper, in mirrors, even whispered at night when no one else was awake.

The diary had been locked away, but its influence hadn’t gone anywhere. Aisha was terrified. She refused to go into the attic or even open her own bedroom door. No amount of reasoning worked. Family members grew anxious and exhausted.

We tried cleaning, rearranging the house, even leaving the diary in a drawer for days. Nothing helped. Every night, the words came back. It was as if the diary had a life of its own, and it was holding Aisha and all of us captive in fear.
We were desperate.
