Deputy President Kindiki Vows Equal Development, Urges Voter Registration Ahead of Polls

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has reassured Kenyans that no region will be left behind in the government’s ongoing development drive, emphasizing that national growth must be equitable.

Speaking during a series of engagements over the Easter weekend, Kindiki stressed that it would be unjust for some parts of the country to flourish while others stagnate. “We are developing every part of this country because it is not right for one section to develop and others to lag behind. Every part of this country will be developed,” he said.

His remarks came as he hosted residents of Tharaka Nithi County at his hometown, where he also distributed Easter gifts to families. Kindiki detailed an ambitious development agenda, including hundreds of kilometers of tarmac roads per county, electricity connections to thousands of homes, modern markets, and water projects. He assured locals that ongoing projects would be completed on time, adding that tenders for many more initiatives had already been issued and works would begin in the coming weeks.

Earlier, the Deputy President had attended an interdenominational church service in Nyandarua County to honor the late Ol Kalou MP David Kiaraho, held at the legislator’s home in Gacwe village.

Alongside development promises, Kindiki delivered a stern message on political participation. He warned that citizens who fail to register as voters will have no power to choose their leaders in the next elections. “I am asking all eligible Kenyans who have not registered to vote to do so. With a vote, you will have the power to choose whoever you wish at the ballot. Without a vote, you will just make noise, but you will not enjoy any right to vote,” he stated.

The DP also urged Kenyans to reject divisive politics, especially during the Easter season. “As we celebrate Easter, let’s remember to love our neighbours, love our country, and love all Kenyans as created by God,” he added.
