Kenyan socialite Risper Faith is praying for protection and a swift return to Kenya after what she describes as a terrifying encounter with “demonic” American culture, specifically the Halloween decorations in her new neighborhood.
The reality star, who recently moved to the U.S. to join her husband, Brian, shared a viral TikTok video showing her walking past homes adorned with skeletons, tombstones, and eerie inflatables. A visibly shaken Risper questioned the tradition, saying, “May the devil be defeated. I’m scared of this place. You walk past someone’s house and find they’ve placed a grave outside. How can people joke with death like this?”
In a follow-up, she expressed deeper confusion about the American cultural calendar, criticizing the “mixing of faith and fear.”
“How can you celebrate something that glorifies darkness and then move immediately to the birth of Christ?” she wondered, referencing the quick transition from Halloween to Christmas.
Her followers were quick to react, flooding her comments with a mix of concern and humor. Many urged her to come back home, with one fan writing in Swahili, “Rudi Kenya, huku ni mashetani tu” (“Come back to Kenya, it’s just demons here”). Others joked that she was simply experiencing a severe case of culture shock.
This isn’t the first time Risper has faced challenges adjusting to her new life abroad; she has previously shared a tense moment when neighbors complained about loud music from her home.
The incident has even drawn commentary from religious figures. Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Minister Nashomi Wangara advised Christians to approach Halloween with wisdom, stating, “While it may seem like innocent fun, Halloween’s roots and symbols are linked to darkness. Believers should instead use the day to spread light, pray, or host positive gatherings.”
For now, Risper Faith remains active online, giving fans a raw look into her American journey—one that currently has her praying for the spooky season to end and maybe, just maybe, for a one-way ticket back to the familiar comforts of Kenya.
